At Reyes Beverage Group, we are committed to reducing the carbon footprint and environmental impact of our operations and delivery systems.

We are actively working to incorporate and enhance sustainable technology and capabilities in our facilities while using renewable energy where possible. This includes investing in energy-efficient lighting and technology, exploring alternative energy options, adopting low- and no-cost energy efficiency initiatives like lighting scheduling and occupancy sensors, and installing solar systems at our facilities.

Our goal is to achieve 60% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030 across energy and fuel*. For 2025, our goal is to achieve 3% reduction in electricity usage year-over-year and to add 4,500+ kW of solar capacity.

We’re on track to exceed our 2025 solar installation goal. As of July 2025, Reyes Beverage Group owns five active, roof-mounted solar panel systems and a battery energy storage system totaling 4.99 MW. A portfolio of that size can reduce carbon emissions equivalent to approximately 123,000 trees planted. See our Washington, D.C. and California solar systems pictured below.

In addition to the solar panel system at Crest Beverage in San Diego, CA, we also have a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This advanced, emerging technology can be paired with solar systems to enhance their efficiency and reduce demand loads.

However, we aren’t stopping there. We are also in the process of installing more solar systems in California and Illinois at the following facilities:

  • Gate City Beverage – Moreno Valley in California

    • Roof-mounted system estimated to become operational by September 2025

  • Chicago Beverage Systems in Illinois

    • Roof-mounted system estimated to become operational in Q4 2025

  • Golden Brands – East Bay in Richmond, California

    • Roof-mounted system estimated to become operational in Q4 2025

  • Harbor Distributing – Huntington Beach in California

    • Roof-mounted system and battery energy storage system estimated to become operational in Q1 2026

Once active, these systems will have 4.74 MW capacity, bringing our total owned capacity to 9.73 MW. A portfolio of that size can generate enough energy to power approximately 183,000 average American homes!

Evaluation and improvement progress will continue after the system becomes operational. After installation and activation, we manage and monitor each system as valuable assets and investments. This includes maintaining the systems, centralizing data, tracking performance metrics and reviewing trends over time.
